I’m incredibly honored to share that our founders Maya and Lara Hammoud were invited to the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations during CSW70 to speak about an issue that matters deeply to us: the discrimination that women with disabilities continue to face within legal systems and institutions around the world.
During the discussion, we shared perspectives from our work at the Perception Foundation, highlighting the structural barriers that prevent women with disabilities from accessing justice, protection, and equal representation. We also had the opportunity to recommend frameworks and guidelines that policymakers can use to ensure legal systems become not only more inclusive for women with disabilities, but more equitable for young girls everywhere.
It was a privilege to engage in conversation with the Ambassador and other influential leaders working to advance gender equality on the global stage. Moments like these remind us how important it is for young voices to be included in international conversations that shape policy and impact lives.
We are deeply grateful for the invitation and for the chance to contribute to such meaningful dialogue during CSW70. Conversations like these are an important step toward building legal systems that truly serve everyone.
